Club de Golf Son Servera, recognized with the Plaque of Merit in Golf by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation

Our Club de Golf Son Servera, the second oldest in Mallorca, has been awarded the Placa al Mérito en Golf by the Real Federación Española de Golf (RFEG). It has been awarded for our outstanding work in promoting golf since our foundation in Mallorca. 1967. This recognition adds to the numerous sporting achievements of the club, which has a reference golf school and a large pool of players.

A club with history and tradition

The Club de Golf Son Servera was founded in 1967 as an initiative of a group of golf enthusiasts who wanted to have their own course on the island of Mallorca. Since then, our club has grown and improved its facilities to become one of the most prestigious and consolidated in the Balearic Islands.

The club has an 18-hole course, designed by John Harris and Francisco López Segalés, which offers a varied and attractive course, with views of the sea and the mountains. The course is surrounded by pine, olive, and carob trees and has several lakes and bunkers that add difficulty and beauty to the game.

The club also has a clubhouse, with a restaurant, a store, a locker room and a meeting room, where members and visitors can enjoy a cosy and familiar atmosphere. In addition, the club offers equipment rental services, golf lessons, tournaments, events and social activities.

A club committed to golf and to Mallorca

The Club de Golf Son Servera has been awarded the RFEG’s Plaque of Merit in Golf for its long and outstanding promotion of golf, both locally and nationally. The club has developed a Golf Academy, with “Chiqui” Palacios as its star instructor, where the care and attention given to young players is outstanding. The club’s school has produced many championship-winning golfers, including Nuria Iturrioz, who is currently playing on the Ladies European Tour.

The club has also distinguished itself for its social character, which sets it apart from other more commercial clubs on the rest of the island. Club de Golf Son Servera has seven hundred members and is the leading club in the Balearic Islands in terms of the number of new licences issued. The club also offers free taster courses every month and is involved in promoting Mallorca as a golf destination, working with hotels, travel agencies and other entities.

The Club de Golf Son Servera is, without a doubt, a reference for golf in the Balearic Islands and a source of pride for all of us who are part of it. We at Son Servera would like to thank the RFEG for this recognition. We are committed to continue working to make golf a more accessible, enjoyable and sustainable sport! See you on the green!
